STREET FURNITURE REDESIGN

USER-CENTERED DESIGN     ·     HUMAN-PRODUCT RELATIONS

The rearrangement of the Brouwerijplein, Enschede has been made with influencing flow and behaviour in mind, based upon mediation theory. By strategically placing 'nature-barriers', visitors are led past wastebins and also onto the center of square, stimulating social behaviour. The seating arrangements have been designed with different uses in mind (see conceptboard). This leads to a more open, clean and inviting space for the visitors of the Brouwerijplein.
